7-DAYS GAMBIA SAFARI
This is an intensive and interesting 8-day tour that will give our esteemed customers the chance to virtually explore the entire length of the Gambia. This excursion will also enable our guests to explore the majestic river Gambia, the main characteristic feature of the country. Means of transport will be minibus and motorized pirogues equipped with all the essential facilities.
This itinerary travels from the coast deep upriver, combining popular coastal nature reserves with the remote jungle camps and islands of the mighty Gambia River.
Part 1: The Coastal Reserves & Culture (Days 1–3)
Day 1
Kachikally & Bijilo Forest
Morning: Visit the famous Kachikally Crocodile Pool (a sacred shrine) to see and touch the resident crocodiles. Afternoon: Explore Bijilo Forest Park (Monkey Park) for a guided walk to see Green Monkeys and Red Colobus Monkeys up close.
Day 2
Makasutu Cultural Forest
Full-day excursion to Makasutu Cultural Forest. Take a peaceful canoe trip through the mangroves to spot waterbirds (like Spoonbills, Egrets) and learn about the forest's medicinal and cultural significance. Includes lunch.

Part 2: The Upriver Expedition (Days 4–6)
Day 3
Journey Upriver to Tendaba
Long scenic drive inland to Tendaba Camp, a classic upriver safari lodge. Stop in local villages along the way. Afternoon: Check in and enjoy a sunset view over the Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve.

Day 4
Bao Bolong & Kiang West NP
Morning: Early boat trip into the Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve and surrounding creeks. This is a birdwatcher's paradise, famous for raptors and waders. Afternoon: 4x4 Safari Drive into Kiang West National Park, one of the Gambia's most important wildlife sanctuaries, to search for Western Bushbuck, Baboons, and rare birds like the Bateleur Eagle.
Tendaba Camp (Rustic Lodge)
Day 5
River Gambia National Park
Drive further upriver to Kuntaur (via a ferry crossing). Take a boat trip to the River Gambia National Park (Baboon Islands) to see the famous Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Project from the river. You will also look for Hippos and other primates. Overnight in a local lodge near Janjanbureh.

Part 3: History & Return (Days 7–8)
Day 6
Ancient Circles & Coastal Return
Morning: Visit the Wassu Stone Circles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back over 1,000 years. Late Morning: Begin the drive back to the coast. Afternoon: Optional stop at a local fish landing site like Tanji Fishing Village for a vibrant cultural experience.

Enjoy a final Gambian breakfast and transfer to Banjul International Airport (BJL) for your onward flight
