One of the most moving and humanising experiences available in The Gambia, the school visit excursion takes you into a local state school to spend time with students, teachers, and the community that surrounds it. You will see the classroom in action, learn about the Gambian education system, understand the challenges and triumphs of teachers working with limited resources, and most memorably spend time with the children, whose curiosity, warmth, and joy are utterly infectious. This experience is particularly meaningful for families travelling with children, teachers, education professionals, and anyone who wants their holiday to have a genuine community impact. Optional donations of school supplies are coordinated by our team.
