River Gambia Experience | SenGambia Experience Tours
Kayak through tranquil mangrove creeks and tidal rivers in The Gambia. A peaceful and immersive way to explore West Africa's coastline and waterways. You can either relax in a canoe while your guide paddles, or you can take a kayak out and make the journey on your own, following closely behind your guide. For photographers, the canoe is the better option, and there will be plenty to photograph along Tanji Creek's mangrove-lined tributaries, with your guide pointing out the abundance of birdlife and, if you're lucky, local fishermen casting their nets, all before stopping in a clearing for some brunch and refreshments.
Paddle silently into the mangroves where the birds don't run and the world goes quiet. Kayaking through the mangrove creeks of The Gambia is one of the most peaceful and rewarding active experiences available in West Africa. In a traditional sit-on-top kayak, you glide silently through narrow waterways where the forest closes in above you, kingfishers dart across the water, and the only sound is the gentle dip of your paddle. This guided excursion is accessible to all levels, with no experience necessary, and is led by a qualified guide who knows every creek, bird, and tidal cycle. Whether you are seeking gentle exercise, incredible photography, or simply the rare pleasure of total silence in nature, this experience delivers.
